How long a piece actually takes to leave the studio

A pair of stud earrings: forty minutes to an hour of modelling, plus baking and cooling, plus assembly. All in, they're ready within a day.

A twelve-flower statement necklace: four to six hours spread across two sessions, because the flowers are baked in batches and need to cool before they can be assembled. It never leaves the same day.

A three-piece set: eight to ten hours of work. That usually works out to three calendar days.

On top of that, there's the work that isn't really work: if the colour I need isn't mixed yet, mixing it and letting it rest. If the order calls for a flower I've never made before, making two or three test versions before the real one.

That's why a custom order takes two to three weeks while a catalogue piece ships in one to three working days. They're not the same job.
